How is FUE hair transplant performed?

The operation takes about 6-8 hours in total.
The patient's head is locally anesthetized twice. At the beginning of the treatment and after the grafts have been collected.

The FUE hair transplantation consists of three phases:

1

Extraction: removal of the grafts from the donor area.

2

Opening of the channels through incisions.

3

Transplantation: the harvested grafts are transplanted into the opened channels.

After hair transplantation, patients can go back home or to the hotel the same day. In this phase it is very important to protect the transplanted area.

How is DHI hair transplant performed?

The patient's head is locally anesthetized twice. At the beginning of the treatment and before implantation.

The DHI Hair Transplant is one of the most researched and popular transplantation method among potential patients who wish to undergo hair transplantation. Grafts harvested from the donor area can be transplanted directly into the recipient area without the need for traditional microincision and channels opening.

There are two phases in DHI hair transplantation:

1

Extraction: removal of the grafts from the donor area

2

Implantation and opening of the channels are done at the same time using the "Choi Pen"

DHI method can be performed on anyone who wishes to undergo hair transplantation. Patients who wish to have a transplant without having to shave their head completely can consider the DHI technique first.

In DHI hair transplantation, lower graft numbers can be used compared to FUE because this treatment is normally performed on smaller areas (ex: frontal or crown area) for patients who already have hair and just want to get more density.

The cost of DHI treatment is higher than that of FUE treatment. There are several reasons for this:
Disposable CHOI pens used during the application.
Requires a higher number of technicians and nurses during the procedure, as the pens needs to be placed precisely.

Things to Consider Before Hair Transplantation

For a successful and comfortable hair transplantation, you should pay attention to your nutrition, habits and medication use. Green tea and alcoholic beverages should not be consumed 3 days prior the operation. You should stop smoking 48 hours before the operation. Blood thinners should be stopped 5 days prior operation. All other prescribed medicines should be continued regularly. Multivitamin containing vitamin E and food supplements should be stopped 3 days before hair transplantation. On the operation day and after, you should wear a buttoned shirt instead of a sweater or t-shirt to avoid damaging the implanted area. If your operation is in the morning, you should have a good breakfast, if it is in the afternoon, you should have a light lunch before coming to the operation.

Post-operation

The success of a hair transplantation is not confined to the operation itself, but depends largely on the measures of selfcare taken afterwards. Each patient receives a bag that contains all the medication and products needed for the immediate post-operative care. Medicines given are antibiotics, painkillers, anti-inflammatories.

How to sleep after the surgery?

  • Cover the pillow with the given pad.
  • Use the neck pillow.
  • Lying position: lie on your back (45° degrees), use some pillows to hold your head lifted up, also under your arms and knees to be more comfortable.
  • Schedule: You should sleep in this position for 5 days, starting the night of the day of surgery.

How to wash the head?

Washing begins on the second day after the operation. It must be done once a day for 10 days. During this period, only the shampoo and foam supplied by us may be used for these washes. No other products may be applied to the head.

After a hair transplant, the implanted hairs usually fall out within the first month. This falling out is completely normal and no cause for concern. Starting from the third month, healthy new hair begins to grow and replace the hair that has fallen out. After the sixth month, new hair growth reaches 60-70% of the implanted follicles, for areas like the crown, the growing process might take longer. The hairless area becomes fuller over time, and the final result of the hair transplant can be seen after twelve months. At this time, all hair follicles will produce new hair, which will gradually become stronger and denser.

Follow Up

The patient must keep all the pictures before and after operations for at least one year. As part of your follow-up, you will be contacted after 10 days, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months and one year to follow the progress of your transplant. You should be aware that the contacts during the dates mentioned above are only for your follow-up via email. Because the hair regrowth process ends after a year. During this period, the patient must send their current photos.

Beard Transplant

The beard has always been essential for men. In the last decade, with the rise of social media, images of bushy bearded men have become the definition of masculinity and appealing looks. Beard transplantation has contributed to the rise of this trend and beard transplantation.

Beard transplantation involves transplanting grafts from the donor area at the back of the head or lower part of the chin, where the beard is dense, into the areas where the beard has been lost due to trauma, incision or other circumstances. The treatment is performed using the micro-FUE method. Sapphire FUE beard transplantation is performed with sapphire blades to open the canals.

The operation is performed under local anaesthesia, takes about 8 hours and is painless.

The surgery takes about 8 hours, under local anesthesia, and is painless.

The planning of beard transplantation is determined by the shape of the beard. Use the beard shape suitable for the person's face together with the doctor.

How many grafts can be extracted for beard transplantation?

The graft calculation for a beard transplant differs from patient to patient, it depends on the face type, the current condition of the beard, the patient's preference, and the beard style.

Process and healing after beard transplantation?

After a beard/moustache transplant, there is no visible scar left behind and the healing process is quick. Symptoms such as redness, swelling and dryness may occur as the transplanted area is the face, which is a sensitive area, but these disappear completely within a few days. However, symptoms can be kept to a minimum if the patient follows correctly the post-operation procedures.

Although it is not a problem, from a medical point of view, to return to work after 2 to 3 days, we recommend that the patient take it easy for at least a week after the procedure. During this time the skin heals, the beard grows and forms, swelling and redness go down.
